Alex Sykes

Alex Sykes is a Niagara based lighting & sound designer. He's a passionate story teller  who primarily works with light and sound to tell stories that make you, think, laugh, cry, and wonder as these are the stories he loves himself. While theatre is his main discipline, he's interested in many forms of art-making, like film, installation, comedy and probably many more he just hasn't tried yet. Alex loves to explore how different mediums change the ways stories can be told, he's always eager to dive into a new project and discover the unknown challenges ahead, both technically and creatively.

Alex is a recent graduate of the National Theatre School of Canada’s Production, Design and Technical Arts program and he holds a bachelor of arts in theatre from Brock University. Professionally, Alex has worked as a lighting designer, head of lighting, and technician at various theatres around southern Ontario and he has also co-produced several projects where he has taken on roles as sound designer, editor, writer, performer & more!
