Taylor is an actor, writer, and multi-disciplinary artist, currently creating art for and within
the Niagara Region. He is a graduate of Fanshawe College’s Theatre Arts
Conservatory, as well as Brock University’s Dramatic Arts program. Since graduating
from Brock, Taylor has been performing with Carousel Players, a company devoted to
Theatre for Young Audiences in many different capacities. His favourite credits with
them include both Mask Minis, a larval mask show and workshop that toured digitally to
classrooms, and Tiny Treasures, a (nearly) one-person show that poignantly told the
stories of young caregivers. While classically trained as an actor, over the last several
years Taylor has also diversified his art practice into additional mediums. In the
beginning of the pandemic, Taylor, along with Josh Loewen, created an interactive
story-sharing website called The Forest of Us, with the help of a grant from the National
Theatre School. Through a recent artistic residency with Suitcase in Point, he further
explored his love for audio storytelling, developing his skills in sound design and editing,
as well as self-producing. This residency led to the creation of his ongoing audio thriller,
The Moonlight Frequency. Earlier this year, Taylor took on an Internship in Artistic
Direction at Carousel Players, under the leadership of Monica Dufault. As a part of this
internship, he assistant directed the play Lig and Bittle, served on audition panels and
casting for the upcoming season, and led a team in the creation of The Pirate Mystery,
an interactive outdoor installation for the Niagara Children’s Festival. He is currently
nominated for an Emerging Artist Award at the St. Catharines Arts Awards. Taylor is
grateful for all of these opportunities, and that he still gets to make art with his friends.
